Issued to mark the tenth anniversary of the Slovenian parliament following independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, this gold commemorative was produced in extremely limited numbers — the Čop reference catalogues it as a minor variety, suggesting most collector demand was absorbed by the primary issue. Slovenia adopted the tolar as its currency upon independence and replaced it entirely with the euro in 2007, making the entire tolar gold commemorative series a compressed four-year window between EU accession in 2004 and monetary transition.
