| Obverse description | Central field displays the national coat of arms of Honduras, featuring a triangular shield bearing a volcanic mountain rising from the sea, encircled by the legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS and the date 1871. The shield is flanked by two standing figures representing indigenous peoples, each holding a staff topped with a liberty cap, and is surmounted by a mural crown.
