Military mess scrip issued for use at the Keflavik Naval Air Station in Iceland, where the U.S. presence under NATO's IADS framework made local currency impractical for on-base transactions. Officers' mess tokens and scrip of this type circulated only within the club itself — not exchangeable at the base exchange or any external facility — which kept them out of local Icelandic hands and off the black market for króna.

Survival rates are low. Most mess scrip was redeemed and destroyed at the end of each fiscal period.
