Obverse description Central field bears the national emblem of Qatar, depicting two crossed curved swords with a traditional Arabian dhow sailing on stylised waves between them, flanked by an island bearing two palm trees. The emblem is rendered in fine relief against a smooth field. A circular legend in Arabic script surrounds the design, with the Hijri and Gregorian dual dates positioned at the top of the coin.
