Additional information

Hutt River Province declared independence from Australia in 1970 after a dispute over wheat production quotas, and its founder Leonard Casley — self-styled Prince Leonard I — spent the following decades issuing coins, passports, and stamps as instruments of quasi-sovereign legitimacy. By 1991, the micronation had developed a cottage industry in commemorative silver issues targeting the international collector market rather than any actual circulation economy.

The U.S. Coast Guard subject matter is purely opportunistic — a topical hook with no meaningful connection to Hutt River's history or geography.
