| Obverse description | Three elands (giant antelopes) depicted in dynamic right-facing profile, their elongated spiral horns crossing prominently in the upper field, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The legend AFRIQUE EQUATORIALE FRANCAISE curves along the upper left rim, with INSTITUT D'EMISSION inscribed across the upper field. The date 1958 appears in the lower centre, flanked by the word CAMEROUN at the bottom. The engraver's signature G.B.L.BAZOR is discreetly incised in the right field. The overall composition reflects the naturalistic Art Deco style characteristic of Bazor's work for the Monnaie de Paris. |
