| Obverse description | Left-facing effigy of Marianne with elaborately styled curled hair adorned with a radiate crown or sunburst ornament, rendered in high relief. The engraver's signature G. B. BAZOR appears at the truncation of the neck. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE is inscribed along the left periphery and UNION FRANÇAISE along the right periphery, both reading upward.
