The Austro-Hungarian Bank issued this 25 Korona in 1918, the final year of the Monarchy's existence — the currency itself outlasted the empire by only weeks. When the Habsburg state dissolved in November 1918, successor nations including Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and Romania each stamped or overprinted circulating notes to claim them as their own currency pending new issues, and many 1918-dated notes received multiple different stampings as they crossed the chaotic new borders.
Pick 13 is among the last designs the Bank ever authorized. Some examples show stamp ink bleed-through from the overprinting process, which affects perceived condition on an otherwise sound note.
