| Obverse description | Central vignette of portrait of Krišjānis Valdemārs, the Latvian national hero and maritime educator, flanked by scenes of sailing vessels and boats on the Daugava River near Riga, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. Intricate guilloche underprint frames the composition, with the denomination and date inscribed in the surrounding border. The issuer's name and printer's imprint appear along the lower margin. |
