| Obverse description | The Bhutanese national emblem occupies the central field, depicting two dragons — one on each side — coiling around a central double vajra (thunderbolt sceptre), rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The dragons are shown in elaborate detail with scaled bodies and stylised clouds, framing a lotus blossom at the base. A circular legend in Dzongkha script surrounds the upper portion of the emblem within an inner border. The Latin legend ROYAL GOVERNMENT OF BHUTAN arcs along the lower periphery outside the inner circle. |
