Reverse description At centre, the Gibraltar coat of arms depicted as a shield bearing a triple-towered castle with an archway, below which hangs a key — the traditional symbols of Gibraltar's heraldic identity. The shield is encircled by a wreath of olive branches upon which seven Barbary macaques are depicted climbing and hanging in various naturalistic poses, referencing the famous resident apes of the Rock. The legend GIBRALTAR arcs above along the upper periphery, and the denomination TWENTY FIVE PENCE is inscribed along the lower periphery, all within a reeded border.
