Obverse description The obverse is dominated by an intricate arabesque guilloche underprint in blue, red, and ochre covering the entire field, with a central scalloped vignette frame enclosing the Arabic text inscription and denomination. The numeral '25' appears in large blue Arabic-Eastern numerals at the lower right, alongside the word 'غرشا' (piastres), while the issuing bank name is inscribed in Arabic script across the upper right panel. Two manuscript signatures appear across the centre, with serial number and series prefix positioned at left and right of the note within the decorative border.

The issuing bank name 'BANQUE DE SYRIE ET DU GRAND-LIBAN' is inscribed in bold letterpress above the vignette, beneath the country name 'SYRIE', while the denomination 'VINGT-CINQ PIASTRES' appears in French at the foot of the note. The border is composed of a repeating geometric and floral guilloche pattern in red, green, and ochre, with '25' numerals in each upper corner.
