| Obverse description | Central device depicts the national emblem of Bangladesh: a water lily (shapla) rising above four stylized waves representing the rivers of Bangladesh. Flanking the central motif are two curved rice sheaves forming a partial wreath at the base. Above the lily, four five-pointed stars are arranged in an arc, with a sprig of jute leaves and blossoms at the apex.
