| Obverse description | Central field occupied by an elaborate interlaced arabesque rosette design of interlocking lobed and foliate geometric motifs, executed in fine relief in the Islamic decorative tradition. The central medallion is surrounded by a raised circular border with small dot embellishments and trefoil ornaments at the cardinal points. The Arabic legend 'الدولة السورية' (Al-Dawla Al-Suriyya, meaning 'The Syrian State') curves along the upper portion of the coin within a beaded inner border, with a five-pointed star at the apex. The dual date '1929' in Western numerals and '١٣٤٨' in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals appears along the lower arc within the same border. The outer rim features a continuous band of incuse triangular denticles. |

| Reverse description | Central medallion enclosed within a raised circular border displays the denomination in both Arabic-Indic numerals '٢٥' and the word 'قرش' (qirsh) above, with Western numeral '25' and the legend 'PIASTRES' below, all in bold relief. A wide decorative annular band surrounds the central medallion, featuring an elaborate Arabic calligraphic inscription in Thuluth-style script, flanked symmetrically by ornate floral and foliate rosette devices at the left and right. The lower arc of this band carries the French legend 'ETAT DE SYRIE' in raised Latin capitals, with the word 'ESSAI' (trial) inscribed to the right. The entire design is framed by a reeded outer rim. |
