Additional information

Jersey's German occupation currency was authorized in 1941 after the island's pre-war sterling supply became impossible to replenish through normal channels. The higher denominations, including this 25 Reichsmark piece, were intended for large transactions and military administrative use rather than everyday civilian commerce — few would have passed through ordinary hands. Zinc was the occupier's pragmatic choice, with nickel and copper reserved for Reich production priorities on the mainland.

Saint Helier and Saint Brelade refer to the parishes where the notes or tokens were valid for redemption, a localized authorization structure imposed by the Feldkommandantur 515, the German military administration governing the island.
