The issuer's name 'MAURITIUS' arcs across the upper legend, while the denomination 'TWENTY FIVE RUPEES' curves along the lower periphery. The composition, engraved by Bernard Sindall, reflects the central importance of the sugar cane industry to the Mauritian economy and national identity. |
