| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of Dr. Ludwig Lazarus Zamenhof, creator of the Esperanto language, depicted wearing pince-nez spectacles and a beard, rendered in high relief. The bust is surrounded by a beaded inner border. The circular legend reads 'D-RO L.L. ZAMENHOF KREINTO DE ESPERANTO' around the upper periphery, with the birth and death dates '• 1859-1917 •' inscribed along the lower exergual area.
