| Reverse description | The reverse displays a detailed three-dimensional depiction of the ancient Armaz Church of Saint George (9th century), a stone basilica surmounted by a cross, rendered in high relief against a prooflike field. Above the church, a small colored icon of Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon is inset at the upper centre, flanked by a Greek Orthodox cross to its right. The inscription АРМАЗ appears below the church in the field, and the date IX ÆН. (9th century) is noted to the upper left. A circular Ossetian-script legend surrounds the entire composition within a dark lacquered border, reading АЛАЙНАГ ЕПАРХИ IX ÆН.
