| Obverse description | Central device depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of South Ossetia: a snow leopard passant to the right set against a backdrop of stylised mountain peaks, enclosed within a beaded inner circle bearing the bilingual legend 'РЕСПУБЛИКӔ ХУССАР ИРЫСТОН' (in Ossetian) and 'РЕСПУБЛИКА ЮЖНАЯ ОСЕТИЯ' (in Russian) arranged around the circumference. The broad outer rim, executed in a contrasting frosted finish, bears the denomination '25 ЗÆРИНЫ' at the top and 'НАЦИОНАЛОН БАНК' at the bottom in bold Cyrillic characters. Decorative snowflake or rosette ornaments flank both sides of the rim. The date '2020', the Moscow Mint monogram, and the silver fineness mark 'Ag925 31,1' appear in the lower field. |

| Additional information |
South Ossetia has no recognized central bank in any internationally accepted sense — the territory operates almost entirely on the Russian ruble under direct Russian subsidy, and the "National Bank of South Ossetia" has never issued circulating currency of any practical use. Coins issued under this authority are collector items produced for the international numismatic market, with no monetary function in the territory itself.
Zarin Seka Gadiyev was a celebrated Ossetian opera singer, born in 1932, whose career centered on the Vladikavkaz musical theater. This coin belongs to a loose series of South Ossetian issues honoring figures from broader Ossetian cultural history — a category that conveniently sidesteps the political complications of issuing coins for a state recognized by fewer than a dozen UN members.
