Belize's high-denomination gold issues of the early 1990s were produced under a licensing arrangement with the Franklin Mint, which handled design, striking, and much of the distribution — meaning many pieces were sold directly to collectors abroad rather than ever entering Belizean commerce. The 1992 date places this squarely in the quincentennial commemoration cycle surrounding Columbus's 1492 landfall, which generated an enormous volume of collector coinage across Caribbean and Central American issuers that year.
KM#113 is a low-mintage proof issue with limited secondary market depth.
