The 2500-franc denomination is an oddity within the BCEAO system, which has historically favored the standard CFA ladder of 500, 1000, 5000, and 10,000. This intermediate value was a short-lived experiment in the early 1990s and was not continued — making the series genuinely short-issue rather than simply old.
Three signature combinations are recorded for P#112A, pairing rotating ministerial appointees against the BCEAO Governor. Alassane Ouattara, who signed as Governor across two pairings here, would later become President of Côte d'Ivoire — a biographical footnote that occasionally inflates collector interest beyond what the note's scarcity strictly warrants.
