Aves Dollars are a conservation currency issued by the Brazilian NGO SOS Mata Atlântica, designed to raise funds for and awareness of the Atlantic Forest biome — one of the most degraded forest systems on earth, reduced to roughly 12% of its original extent. This is not legal tender in any jurisdiction. It circulates symbolically at partner events and institutions, functioning more as a fundraising instrument and educational artifact than a monetary object in any conventional sense.
