| Reverse description | A Palestine sunbird in full flight with wings spread is depicted in the centre of the field, approaching a large hibiscus flower rendered in fine detail above it. The legend THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN curves along the upper periphery in Latin script. Below the central motif, the dual-calendar date appears as 1977 and ١٣٩٧ in both Western and Arabic-Indic numerals, with the denomination 3 DINARS in Latin script to the lower left and ٣ دنانير in Arabic script to the lower right, all within a reeded border. |

Jordan issued this piece as part of a broader conservation series produced in cooperation with the World Wildlife Fund and the FAO during the mid-1970s, a period when several Arab states used commemorative silver programs to generate foreign exchange. The series drew international collector interest largely because Jordan's conservation-themed issues were among the more credibly motivated in the region — the country had active wildlife protection programs at the time, not merely nominal ones.
Struck at a relatively low mintage typical of the series, most examples reached collectors directly rather than circulation.
