| Obverse description | Central vignette of the legendary Polynesian figure Ina, rendered in fine intaglio engraving, seated atop Mango the shark as it surges through breaking surf; Ina cradles a coconut and is partially draped, her long flowing hair merging with the churning waves. The denomination numeral "3" appears in large script upper right alongside the issuer name in cursive lettering, with a diamond-shaped transparent optical security element at centre right.
