The Antarctica Overseas Exchange Office Ltd is a private novelty issuer with no governmental standing, no central banking function, and no actual territory — "Queen Maud Land" being Norwegian-administered Antarctic territory over which no such office holds any authority. These polymer pieces were produced commercially, almost certainly for the collector and souvenir market, timed to coincide with the International Polar Year 2007–2008. They circulate only between philatelic dealers.
