| Reverse description | Central depiction of the Dutch trading vessel known as the Manilla, which ran aground off the coast of Bermuda in 1739, rendered in fine detail within the triangular field. Surrounding the central shipwreck motif, the circumferential legend includes the vessel's name MANILLA, the Latin date inscription Anno Domini 1739, a depiction of a hog referencing the historical nickname for Bermuda, and the denomination THREE DOLLARS. The design commemorates the historic wreck and is framed by the characteristic curved sides of the Reuleaux triangular flan. |
