Aldabra is not a sovereign state. It is an atoll in the Outer Islands of Seychelles, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to one of the world's largest populations of giant tortoises — but it has no currency-issuing authority, no central bank, and no legal tender framework of its own. Notes issued under the "Aldabra" name are privately produced fantasy pieces, with no governmental mandate behind them.

The hologram and watermark are real security features applied to what is, legally, a novelty item.
