Obverse description Left-facing bare-headed effigy of King George VI, Emperor of India, occupying the central field. The portrait, designed by Percy Metcalfe, presents the King in a restrained, unadorned style befitting the wartime and postwar era. A circular legend surrounds the bust, reading GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR, with the abbreviated title PM (Prime Minister's endorsement style) completing the inscription. The coin's border is defined by a beaded inner ring consistent with British colonial coinage of the period.
