| Additional information |
Soldatenheim tokens were issued by German military rest-and-recreation facilities during the occupation of the Channel Islands, functioning as internal canteen currency to prevent occupied-population commerce and limit soldiers' access to local coin. The St. Brelade facility sat in one of Jersey's coastal parishes, requisitioned for troop use from 1940 onward. These brass pieces circulated in an entirely closed loop — redeemable only within the establishment that issued them.
Channel Islands occupation tokens are among the most geographically specific military scrip of the Western European theatre, issued parish by parish rather than island-wide.
