Georgia's short-lived Democratic Republic issued this note during a period of acute instability — the government was simultaneously managing a border war with Armenia, British occupation forces in Batumi, and Bolshevik pressure from the north. The 3 Rouble denomination was part of a rapid series of local emissions made necessary by the near-total collapse of Transcaucasian monetary supply after the Russian Empire's disintegration.
Printing quality across this series is inconsistent, and misaligned overprints are common enough that they should not be treated as errors commanding a premium.
