| Obverse description | Armored bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in a bold portrait style typical of early Spanish colonial coinage. The king is depicted with flowing hair and a cuirass visible at the truncation. The encircling legend reads CAROLVS III D G HISPAN ET IND REX, denoting his title as King of Spain and the Indies by the grace of God.
