Obverse description Draped bust of King Carlos III facing right, with elaborately coiffed hair tied with a ribbon at the nape, rendered in the portrait style of the Spanish colonial milled coinage. The royal effigy is depicted in court dress with lace cravat visible at the truncation. The date 1786 appears in the lower exergue flanked by pellets, while the circumferential Latin legend reads CAROL·III·D·G·HISP·ET·IND·R·, attributing the king's authority by divine grace over Spain and the Indies. The coin exhibits a fine milled border encircling the entire design.
