| Reverse description | A bold floriated cross pattée in high relief dominates the center of the irregularly shaped flan, dividing the field into four quarters each containing a stylized fleur-de-lis, the Bourbon dynastic emblem introduced under Felipe V. The cross is enclosed within a double tressure or bordure, partially visible given the cob flan's irregular shape. Partial Latin legend referencing 'ET YNDIAE REX' and the date appear around the periphery, though much of the legend is characteristically off-flan as typical of macuquina gold coinage. The strike, while typical of the rough hammered technique, renders the central cross design with considerable clarity. |
