| Reverse description | The reverse likewise fills the entire field with a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh-style relief, stating the denomination, mint location, and Hijri date. The legend is arranged in five horizontal lines, reading '4 Lariat, struck in Malé, Maldives, 1331' with the Hijri numeral ١٣٣١ prominently displayed at the base of the coin. The deeply incised lettering and plain flat field are consistent with the obverse, giving the coin a uniform calligraphic character on both sides. No ornamental border or exergual line is present, with the script itself serving as the sole decorative and informational element. |
