| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Ferdinand VII facing left, occupying the central field of the host coin. The circular legend reads POR LA GRACIA DE DIOS Y LA CONSTITUCION with the date 1822 in the lower exergue. Superimposed on the lower right of the bust is the Cuban lattice countermark of 1841, consisting of a rectangular punch displaying a grid pattern of square perforations arranged in a 3x3 format, applied by Cuban colonial authorities to validate the coin for local circulation. |
