(Translation: Fernando VI by the grace of God King of Spain and the Indies J 4 Reales)
Reverse description Two crowned hemispheres, representing the Old and New Worlds, occupy the central field and are flanked by two crowned Pillars of Hercules, each entwined with a banner bearing the 'PLUS ULTRA' motto. The mint mark 'G' and the date appear in the lower portion of the legend. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, and small rosette stops punctuate the inscription. The overall design follows the classic 'Dos Mundos' (Two Worlds) or Columnario type, standard for Spanish colonial silver coinage of this period.
