| Reverse description | The Arabic numeral '٤٠' (40) is prominently displayed in large characters at the centre of the field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the denomination 'پاره' (Para) inscribed below it. The circular legend above reads 'Devlet-i Osmaniye' (Ottoman State) and 'Darb fi Kostantiniyye' (Struck in Constantinople), separated by star ornaments, running between the beaded circle and the outer toothed border. An olive branch and a wheat ear spring from the base on either side. The regnal year '١٣٣٦' (1336 AH) appears on a raised cartouche at the very bottom of the design. |
