| Obverse description | The trident arms of the Ukrainian People's Republic are set within an oval guilloche frame at centre, surrounded by a decorative floral and foliate border rendered in green on a cream ground. The denomination '40' appears in large numerals at lower centre, with 'ШАГІВ' immediately below. The issuer's name 'УКРАЇНСЬКА НАРОДНЯ РЕСПУБЛІКА' is inscribed in an arc at the upper portion of the vignette. The overall design closely resembles a postage stamp, complete with a perforated edge. |
