The Sociedade Numismática Paranaense issued this commemorative note in 2016 to mark the club's 25th anniversary — a practice common among Brazilian numismatic societies, which have produced some of the most inventive exonumia on the continent. The "Araucária" denomination is purely nominal, referencing the Paraná pine that dominates the visual identity of the region and the society itself.
First print designation matters here: the SNP typically issued anniversary pieces in limited, sequentially numbered runs, with subsequent prints differing in serial formatting or paper stock. Fagner Maximo da Silveira handled the design domestically.
