| Obverse description | The Ecuadorian national arms occupy the central field, depicting an oval shield charged with Mount Chimborazo and a steamship on the river below, surmounted by a condor with spread wings atop the shield. The arms are flanked on either side by four national flags draped outward, with a laurel branch to the left and a palm branch to the right. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, and the date appears in the exergue below the shield. |
