| Obverse description | Four crowned royal cyphers of Léopold II, each formed by two interlaced 'L' letters, are arranged symmetrically around a central round hole, oriented at the cardinal points of the design. Each monogram is surmounted by a royal crown, with the four groups radiating outward in a cross-like pattern. The field between the monograms is plain. A beaded inner border surrounds the central motif, with the full circular legend reading 'LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES SOUV. DE L'ETAT INDEP. DU CONGO' running between the beaded inner and outer borders. |
