| Obverse description | Printed in black with orange underprint. A circular vignette at upper centre encloses a cluster of tobacco leaves within a decorative foliate border bearing the company name in a ring; the numeral '5' appears in ornate cartouches at upper left and upper right within a fine engine-turned frame. The promise-to-pay text and denomination FIVE CENTS are rendered in a bold orange letterpress underprint across the centre, with signature lines for Accountant and General Manager at the lower portion and the printer's imprint at the foot. The note is perforated SPECIMEN across the centre. |
