Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles occupies the central field, depicting a shield supported by two sailfish and surmounted by a tropical bird in flight, with a sailing vessel and sea waves on the escutcheon. The legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES curves along the upper periphery, flanked by two raised dots at the lower sides of the field. The date 1981 is inscribed in the lower exergue beneath the arms.
