Obverse description Crowned bust of King George VI facing left, wearing the Imperial State Crown, engraved by Percy Metcalfe. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the crown's arches and jewels. The engraver's initials 'PM' appear below the truncation. The circular legend reads KING GEORGE THE SIXTH around the periphery, with a toothed border encircling the entire design.
