| Reverse description | The denomination 5 CENTS appears in two lines at the centre of the field, surmounted by a St. Edward's Crown rendered in fine detail at the top of the coin. The date 1864 is inscribed below the denomination. The central devices are framed by a symmetrical wreath of maple leaves tied at the base with a ribbon bow, the foliage rendered with crisp naturalistic detail characteristic of mid-Victorian minting at the Royal Mint. A dentilated border surrounds the entire composition. |
