| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a central intaglio vignette of a standing female allegorical figure holding a staff, set within an oval frame against an intricate guilloche underprint in rose and green tones. The header reads BANCO NACIONAL DE NICARAGUA / DEPARTAMENTO DE EMISION, MANAGUA, with the denomination numeral 5 appearing in large format on either side of the central vignette.
