Obverse description At left-center, an intaglio vignette of King Hussein I in a circular frame, rendered in a three-quarter portrait with the King in a suit and tie against a fine guilloche underprint in red and pink tones. The denomination numeral '5' appears in both lower-left and upper-right corners, with Arabic inscriptions running across the upper and central portions of the note. Two manuscript signatures appear at lower right, corresponding to the Governor and Minister of Finance.
