| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Hussein bin Talal facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed portraiture. The Hashemite royal arms — a crowned shield — appears at the top of the field above the portrait. An Arabic legend curves along the left and right periphery, identifying the monarch and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Below the bust, the denomination numeral '٥' (5) and the Arabic inscription 'خمسة دنانير' (Five Dinars) appear in the lower field, with the Hijri date '١٣٨٩' below. The coin is bordered by a raised beaded rim. |
