Obverse description The coin's overall surface is styled to resemble a football (soccer ball), with alternating polished and frosted hexagonal and pentagonal panels radiating across the entire face. At the centre, a raised circular inner field carries the right-facing bare-headed effigy of King Charles III, rendered in high relief after the portrait by Dominic Thomas. The circular legend reads CHARLES III · 2026 · SOLOMON ISLANDS around the upper arc. Below the effigy, along the lower arc of the inner circle, the denomination and fineness are inscribed: 1oz · $5 · Ag 999.

Additional information

The 2026 FIFA World Cup marks the first edition to expand to 48 nations and the first co-hosted across three countries simultaneously — the United States, Canada, and Mexico. That last point carries a certain irony: the 1970 and 1986 tournaments were both held in Mexico, but this will be the first time the country co-hosts alongside its NAFTA partners under an arrangement brokered partly to leverage stadium infrastructure spread across the continent.

Solomon Islands has no history of World Cup qualification.
