Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing crossed tools over a sailing vessel, supported by two woodcutters standing on a ground of native vegetation, with a mahogany tree rising above the escutcheon. The supporters and shield are encircled by a laurel and olive wreath. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto SUB UMBRA FLOREO. The country name BELIZE is inscribed in a curved legend along the upper periphery, and the date 1984 appears at the base, all contained within a finely executed beaded border at the rim.
